ZORA Identity & Interaction Design was founded by Britta Boland in 2005. Prior to this she worked as a design consultant in Germany, the United States and Italy in the areas of brand, publication and interaction design (Studio Archetype/Sapient, frog design San Francisco, Interaction Design Institute Ivrea). She received a Master of Fine Arts in Visual Studies from the Minneapolis College of Art & Design and a Diploma in Visual Communication from the University of Applied Arts Düsseldorf. Her work has been awarded by The Art Director’s Club of Germany, The One Show Interactive and Communication Arts. If time permits, she teaches classes or workshops in typography and interaction design.
“zora.com” was first registered as a domain by founder Britta Boland in 1998. She simply followed an intuition and liked it because it was short and easy to remember in both English and German. Imagine that: at that time you could still register a domain consisting of just a four-letter word!
ora Neale Hurston
ie rote Zora
ora la vampira
Our Italian friends think of this one first. Zora the vampire is the heroine of a popular erotic comic from the 70’s. While we doubt that riding a horse topless would look that good anywhere but on a still image we get that the missing frames do spark their imagination.
While we believe that design is not a democratic process it is best achieved in a team of people who enjoy working with each other.
If you’d like to join the team but no job offer is currently listed on the front page please feel free to send a cover letter and your portfolio (url or pdf) to this address anyway. We’re always curious to see beautiful work and things change faster than you think – you might just be the perfect fit for the next opening.
